Not a lot of people missed the first part of The Hangover, so the production house came up with a sequel. The Hangover 2 was one of the most awaited movies this year. Does it live up to its expectations?
The wolfpack is back and this time they are in Thailand for Stu’s wedding. The wolfpack reunites for another bachelor party, this time with a new wolf Stu’s brother-in-law, Teddy. Stu promises only one beer but once again a crazy night ensues and the boys wake up the next morning with absolutely no idea of what happened the night before. So they do what they are best at doing, start finding clues. This time its Stu’s brother in law who’s missing.
The plot of the movie is same as the last one with minor changes like a monkey instead of tiger, monk instead of baby etc.
The Hangover Part II tries to do what its predecessor did i.e. make you laugh. It succeeds at times but you don’t laugh your balls out like you did in Part I.
There is no mystery element in Part II because it is almost the same as part I and if you have seen part I you actually know exactly what’s going to happen at some places.
Still Ken Jeong and Zach Galifianakis make you laugh and there’s no dull moment in the movie.
The Hangover Part II doesn’t suck. Each moment just gets raunchier and and more insane, keeping you laughing from start to finish. The comedy in this film isn’t as clever as the first film, but its good to keep you on your seats. I still think Zach Galifianakis is funniest man on this planet and Todd Phillips still knows how to make a good comedy movie. But The Hangover Part II certainly doesn’t live up to the hype and it doesn’t even come close to the first film.
But like I said earlier we shouldn’t be comparing it with Part I, its a separate film and one of a kind.( Actually its 2 now ).
Overall Hangover Part II is worth watching, it makes you laugh and that’s what comedy movies are supposed to do. Don’t care about the story, don’t care about the plot, go in and have a good time.
And don’t take your Kids with you.
With movies like ‘Ready’ releasing in India, I don’t think you should miss out on this movie.
We at OP give it 3.5 on 5. ( Zach gets Hangover II an extra 0.5 )
