Welcome to TeCHeck. As rumored Apple announced the next version of the revolutionary ipad a few minutes ago and we take a look at what’s new and amazing in the 3rd generation ipad.
Firstly the new ipad will be running on Apple’s A5X processor which is a quad core processor and Apple claims it to be 4 times faster than NVIDIA’s Tegra 3. Apple says it will be revolutionary for tablet gaming with gaming quality supposedly better than Xbox 360 and PS 3. We did notice some very fine gaming demoed on the device as games like Infinity Blade: Dungeons and Sky gamblers were really amazing.
The new ipad will have the much demanded retina display which will have a resolution of 2048×1536, better than full HD and HDTV at your homes. The apps will automatically be updated to suit this resolution which is what Apple did with the launch of retina display on iphone 4.
The new ipad has a 5MP rear camera with optics similar to iphone 4S. Apple calls it iSight and it can shoot videos in 1080p full HD. The device will support 4G LTE which offers speeds up to 73 MBPS. It supports personal hotspot, 3G and Wi-Fi. The 3rd generation ipad has the most number of wireless bands on any device ever. With a quad core processor and a super sharp retina display, ipad retains its 10 hour battery life and offers 9 hours on 4G LTE.
Voice dictation is available on this version of ipad along with applications like iphoto and imovie which will be discussed later in the app reviews section when we get our hands on them.

Even with all this packed under the hood; ipad maintains its 9.4mm thickness and 1.4 pound weight. ipad will be rolling out on 16th March and the pre order begins now.
It has the same 30 pin proprietary connector will come in 16, 32 and 64GB variants.
The prices are 499, 599 and 699 for Wi-Fi only and $629, $729 and $829 for 4G version respectively.
Apple’s ipad 2 will see a price cut by $100 and could post some threat to Amazon’s Kindle Fire.
We think Apple did a fine job with ipad 3 and delivered most of what was expected. Our predictions were almost bang on about the ipad 3 and we will be back with the full review of the device as soon as we have it with us.
In case I missed, ipad 3 will come out with ios 5.1.
