Samsung Galaxy S III launched in India, pricing revealed

Samsung announced the Galaxy S III earlier this month and the device will be hitting Indian markets within a week. The official pricing is a whopping Rs 43180. Although several retailers are offering 6-8% discount on Galaxy S III. Mobile store is offering the device for Rs 42500, while online retailers like Flipkart and Home shop 18 are willing to give you the device at a price of Rs 38900. The best deal we came across is being offered by online retailer buytheprice which is selling Galaxy S III for Rs 38,290.

If you’re living on some other planet and have missed out on the specs, here’s a quick remainder.
Samsung Galaxy S III has a 4.8 inch Super Amoled HD screen with a resolution of 1280×720. It has a quad core processor with 1GB RAM. The phone runs on Android’s latest version Ice-cream Sandwich. It has an 8 MP camera with LED flash and can record 1080p full HD video. Apart from this it has a front facing 1.9 MP camera with 720p recording. The device is 8.6mm thick and just 113 grams in weight. It will be available in two colours, Pebble blue and Marble white.

Samsung has probably messed up with the pricing and the phone does seem a bit overpriced. With the likes of HTC One X probably available for full 3-4k less than Galaxy S III, the road for Samsung could be tough. That being said, the device has gained a lot of attention all over the world and already 9 million Galaxy S III have been pre booked around the world.
