Relive the first 35 years of Star Wars!

Star Wars is more than just a fiction film series, it is a hell lot more. Created by George Lucas, as the fans would be aware, the first movie was released on May 25, 1977 and the series hasn’t looked back ever since. Star Wars became and instant hit and owing to its success, two sequels of the film were released at an interval of three years each. If that wasn’t enough, for the new age fans, three prequels to the series were released, again, at an interval of three years each and the last film of the series was released on May 19, 2005. In 2008 though, Star Wars: The Clone Wars was released, which was an animated film and not relating to the trilogies.

Talking about the success of Star Wars, it has generated a revenue of $ 4.5 billion in the ticket sales of the film alone. This figure is second to James Bond and Harry Potter ticket revenue only which have been the highest grossing films of all time. Ever since Star Wars first came to the scene, it became more than just a movie and hence costumes, comics, books, television series and video games of the series were released which still continue to be a huge success and romp in new fans every day.
