If you’ve just returned from a mobile store with your brand new Android phone you might be daunted by the number of apps offered. Sure, you have some idea of what you might need and you’ll find the apps that perform wanted tasks for yourself, but you might miss out on a lot of great and useful apps that you just didn’t think of searching.
1. Pandora Radio
This is a nice app that lets you listen to the music you like without needing to download it or constantly switch between stations in order to find something that you want to listen.

Once you install the app, you’ll need to make an account, and after you find a band that you like, you’ll be offered a number of bands that other users found similar to the one you initially chose. The more you use this radio, the more you will be able to filter the offered music, until you’re finally left only with performers that you’ll enjoy.
2. Google Maps
This is a must have app, and it is arguably much more useful on mobile phones than on PCs as it can help you while you’re on the go.

It can display your current location and give you directions toward local points of interest as well as let you share your location with other people. It pretty much means that you can successfully navigate a place that you’ve never been to before without even having to ask someone for directions.
3. TV Guide
This is a great app for keeping track of your favorite programming.

After you enter your location and the TV provider you are interested in, the app will give you an overview of the station’s programming. In case you are a forgetful type, it also allows you to set reminders that will make sure that you don’t miss your favorite show.
4. Dropbox
This is an app that enables you to share files between your various devices. When you create an account you are given 2 GB of storage space, which you can expand if you recommend the service to your friends and they become users.

The files stored in this way can then be accessed from your smartphone, laptop or PC. It is a great way to both solve storage issues you might be having with your phone and to have certain files accessible whenever and wherever you need them.
5. Kindle
You probably already know just what this app will enable you to do.

You can download a great number of free books, or decide to purchase some for as low as a couple of bucks, and read them at your leisure. Despite the size of your display they are easy to read, and if you have other Kindle devices, you can sync them with your smartphone and transfer all the necessary data between them.
