A couple of days ago, along with the release of Google Nexus 7, the 7 inch tablet whose specifications we gave you recently, Google also rolled out Android 4.1 which is named Jelly Bean. At first it was thought that Jelly Bean would be Android 5.0 but it came out as Android 4.1 and as of now, Google Nexus 7 is the only device that has Jelly Bean OS on it.
Now that Jelly Bean has been out for a couple of days, it surely had to hit the device that is arguably the best Android device if not the best smartphone available in the market at the moment- Samsung Galaxy SIII. Samsung gave the official word today that Samsung Galaxy SIII will be getting the Jelly Bean update in Q4 of the year. Before Samsung Galaxy SIII gets the update, three devices i.e. Google Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Motorolla Xoom tablet are expected to get the updates through an OTA sometime in mid July! Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes with numerous enhancements over its predecessor, including smoother animations and user interface, along with better touch responsiveness. Jelly Bean also has a better frame rate than Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a frame rate of 60 frames per second. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean also has improvements to the voice search and works in much the same way as the Siri voice navigation from Apple.
There were a few other brilliant features that were rolled out and showcased by Team Google during the conference Google IO as far as Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is concerned.
