Install Siri on your iPhone 3GS/4, iPod Touch and iPad!

Siri was the one big thing that made iPhone 4S what it is and surely was the USP of the device as well at the time of it’s launch. The virtual assistant that helps you with everything, well, almost everything, is now available for other iOS devices as well. It was a complete let down that the new iPad was launched without Siri on board and officially there wasn’t a way of getting Siri on the previous Apple range of devices either.

So finally, Siri Port is now available for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4th generation and the iPad.

Of late, there have been a number of Siri Ports that have been released by a number of developers/hackers. i4Siri and SiriPort being the most famous but we finally laid our hands on one of the most stable ones- Ac!d Siri. Now even though Ac!d Siri might lack a couple of capabilities that i4Siri and SiriPort might have but this was the only one that we were able to install in first go i.e. without bricking our device and got Siri talking to us within seconds of the install and the reboot.

Install Siri on your iPhone 3GS/4, iPod Touch and iPad! Here is how to do it:

Pre-requisite: Your device should be updated to iOS version 5.1.1 and Jailbroken.

Step 1 : On your jailbroken iOS device launch Cydia and add the following repo:

 http://repo.biteyourapple.net.

Step 2 : Install Ac1d Snow from the repo and if you are using any version of iPad then install Ac!d Pad.

Step 3 : Reboot your device.

Step 4 : Now go to Settings — General —- Siri and toggle Siri On.

Step 5 : Go to Ac1D Sn0w settings and in the proxy add the any one of the given address :

Step 6 : To install the iPhone 4S certificate just go to the given link and install the cert.

Once you have installed the proxy host and the iPhone 4S certificate Ac1D Snow will be fully functional on your iOS device. It might take some time for it to begin, an hour or so maybe but when it does begin answering, it works like a charm!

So now enjoy Siri on your older Apple Devices!
