Kohli-Irfan seal win for India!

Imperious Virat Kohli and the comeback man, Irfan Pathan sealed an easy win for India in the first of the two T20 matches against Srilanka today.

Change the venue, change the format, but Virat Kohli will still score runs.  His hunger for runs can’t be satiated easily. Since the end of the World Cup last year, he has scored 8 centuries all around the globe and against every opposition. He has come out for India in rather predicament situations and one flash of brilliance from him has helped India past the hurdle. So far, Kohli has done everything right to be the perfect candidate to fill in the shoes of Rahul Dravid.

Initially not being a part of the squad, the injury to Vinay Kumar must have been a blessing in disguise for Irfan Pathan. The Baroda paceman got the chance to revive his buried fame and reputation. And he did that in fitting style. Two player of the match awards were just what the doctor ordered! Apart from heroics in bowling, his contribution with the bat has been extremely helpful. He may look innocuous with the bat in his hand but his hefty hikes over mid wicket and fetch more than what one could ask for.

Coming to the bowling, apart from Pathan, Dinda was the one who struck the right chords by picking up four wickets. Umesh Yadav did go for some runs but it’s too early to chuck him out of the side for that. He does bring you wickets and limiting the flow of runs is something that he will probably learn with time. For the time being, India’s bowling brigade seems to moving in the right direction.
