5 Camera Applications to play around with your photos on Android!

Android Google Play store has millions of applications and thousands of them that allow you to play with the camera and the photos that you take. With the advancement in technology and the number of megapixels that today’s smart phones back, smart phones have replaced digital cameras more or less. With this, there is an increasing need to have a good application that lets you edit the images while you click them i.e. by providing you with various scenes and scenarios to take photos.

Today, we will give you 5 camera applications to play around with your photos on Android!

Here are our top 5 camera applications:

1. Paper Camera:

Paper Camera is a fantastic little photography application for adding cool filters to your photos and videos. While this is nothing new, Paper Camera does this in real time, so when you look through your Android’s view finder, you can immediately see the effects in action, before you take the shot.

The most notable thing about these features is that they’re fresh and original – no other app that we know of boasts such a wacky selection of filters. Paper Camera is all about simplicity. Snaps are dropped straight into your gallery as soon as they’re taken, so there’s no messing about with resolutions, save locations or other concerns. Simplicity is what governs this application and also makes this application worth downloading.

Paper Camera can be bought from the Google Play store here.

2. Cartoon Camera

Cartoon Camera Android application makes your phone camera very interesting and its provides ability to add cartoon like shots from your camera itself. Among the real time effects that you can add are Cartoon, Color Drawing, Sepia, White Strokes, Dark Strokes and Colored Edges to the photo which you are taking down. Alongside that you have the options to set the color and the sensitivity from 0 % to 100 %.

Overall it’s a good app if your looking to take pictures with a cartoon effect.

3. Retro Camera

As you might expect, Retro Camera Plus is an app that can add an old-school look to your photos. It simulates a number of vintage cameras and has a nicely drawn interface too. And if you are not sure whether it is worth the $2.99, you can always try out the free version first.

There are currently two versions on the market, Retro Camera (free) and Retro Camera Plus ($2.99).  The difference, as you might guess, is the Plus version doesn’t have ads in the app, actually replacing the app area with a nice level while taking photos.

Retro Camera, to put it simply is highly detailed. Overall, I appreciate the detail the developer has gone into with this application.  It feels refined, it feels like they spent some time coming up with an idea that isn’t just another camera app, but something that makes it fun and interesting to use.  Even their app icon feels refined and there are four cameras in the application to work around with.

4. Ultra Burst Camera

Ultra Burst Camera does what the title says – clicks a number of images without any sort of shutter lag. Ultra Burst Camera claims to be the fastest camera on the Android Market, offering 10 photos per second for a generic phone, and up to 30 photos per second for the high end phones. Limited to black and white only, the app also claims that it is “faster than most +$1000 DSLR cameras”.

Ultra Burst Camera is quick and pretty efficiently does what it says!  We do believe that it is very costly for a camera application though.

Ultra Burst Camera can be downloaded from the Google Play store here.

You can also download the cheaper and yet an equivalently good Fast Burst Camera from the Google Play store here.

5. Camera Effects

Camera Effects is simple to use, merely open up the app as you would you camera, add an effect before you take the photo, then add a host more afterwards. The initial color effects for the photo include: Mono, Sepia, Negative, Solarize, Posterize and Aqua. Then you enter this post-picture editing suite with 16 different effects to add to your photo, in addition to 7 different borders to frame your picture in.

The application is very simple to use, and could replace your native camera application in terms of speed and ease of use.
