BMW Z4 Roadster

Hi Everyone!

Today at Wheelers we have BMW’s Z4 Roadster.

One of the few roadsters which is available inIndia.

Some days ago I saw a man driving a Z4 on the streets of Karol Bagh,New Delhi. He was having a tough time handling the vehicle in that jam packed road. Anyway this has nothing to do with the review its just that when I saw this beautiful car I decided to check it out and let you guys know what’s in this car.

So it’s time we begin.

The BMW Z4 is a rear-wheel drive sports car by the BMW. It has replaced Z3 and is one of the most talked about roadster in the market for quite a long time.

The Z4’s top variant has a dual-clutch 7-speed automatic gearbox with DCT and a 3L twin-turbo inline-six engine that generates 306PS of power and 400 Nm of torque. The car like most of the roadster allows user to choose between three modes ‘normal’, ‘sports’ and ‘sports+’ thanks to its dynamic drive control.

Z4 can hit the 100kmph mark in 5.2s and has a top speed of 250kmph, which I don’t think will be required in Indian conditions.

Like most modern BMWs, the Z4 is ultra stiff thanks to run-flat tyres and the German tendency towards a firm suspension set-up, but it goes and stops like a Roadster should

The car has got a complete sporty look which gives the viewers an idea about its speed and intent. Being a two seated car, the car has looks very aggressive and stylish with the front metallic finished grill. The best feature of the car is its convertible roof which is the scene stealer, folding in two to vanish into the boot in 20 seconds. Amazing isn’t it?

The noise of the engine is wooffiee and it is bound to make your neighbors wonder what you are up to this morning.

Dimensions of the car are length -4,239mm, width-1,439mm, height- 1,291mm, wheelbase- 2496mm.

Both front and rear wheels of BMW Z4 come with the inner vented large disc brakes with DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) and some additional features like ABS (Antilock Brake System), DBC (Dynamic Brake Control) and DTC (Dynamic Traction Control).

The Sport Package also includes adjustable shock-absorber control and 18-inch run-flat tires. Leather upholstery and automatic climate control are optional on the sDrive30i and standard on the sDrive35i. A navigation system is optional. The optional “through-loading” system includes a luggage pass-through for skis or golf bags to the passenger compartment.  They have used aluminium roof in order to incorporate good and better structural system that protects the occupants if any rollover accident occurs.

The mileage of the car is 6 km/ litre in the cities and 11.5 km/litre on the highways, which is bad news for Indian buyers if the advertisement of Maruti Suzuki is true and we are a mileage obsessed country.

It comes with a hefty price tag of 59,00,000 INR. It may not be the best roadster in the market but its worth buying and definitely the best looking.

If you have Extra money and you are not interested in spending it on, and MBA, you are well in line to buy this car.

And of course you can start saving too.
