Today we have some exclusive shots of Sony’s upcoming device, Xperia SL. For those of you unfamiliar with the device, Xperia SL is an upgrade to Sony’s 2012 flagship device Xperia S. Sony has a habit of coming out with minor upgrades to their device, like Xperia Arc S was an upgrade to the orignal arc, Xperia SL is an upgrade to Xperia S.
Sony will make sure that Xperia SL will be available in 2 more colors, silver and pink along with the regular white and black. Although the Xperia SL will be running on the same MSM8260 Snapdragon S3 processor, it will be overclocked to 1.7 GHz instead of 1.5 GHz of Xperia S. Xperia SL will be shipping with Android 4.0.4 out of the box, unlike the Xperia S which shipped with gingerbread. There is no word from Sony about the jelly bean update, but we do feel when it comes, Xperia SL will probably one of the first Sony devices to get the update.
Other specs will be same as Xperia S, as Xperia SL will be rocking the same 12 MP camera along with an LED flash, 4.3 inch HD display at a resolution of 1280×720 generating a mammoth 342 ppi, highest in its class and the much appreciated and funky LED strip at the bottom of the device.
Sony will be coming out with Xperia SL on August 29 in its pre-IFA event at Berlin along with the LT29i, Xperia Hayabusa. The pricing of Xperia SL is expected to be arounf the $600 mark, which we think will be a bit to much for a device which rocks a last generation processor. We will see how the device turns out to be when we get our hands on it. Till then you can enjoy these shots of the device taken by our friends at GSMArena.
