Premonition: A True Reality Or Just A Mere Fake Dream

Premonition means an intuition of a future, usually unwelcome, occurrence; foreboding an early warning of a future event; forewarning. It’s a phenomenon which many people don’t believe and many avoid these warnings as nightmares but the fact is Premonition exists. According to the theory women’s are the one to experience these things more often. There is not one incident but many. And many are enough to prove this strange phenomenon. But this phenomenon remains still question as how one can see future? Are these true and accurate signs every time? How can one have faith in these strange phenomenons? But whoever has experienced these phenomenon’s they have been true every time and almost accurate. Some of these incident or accidents were-

On 15th September 1981, Barbara Garwell had a dream involving the shooting of important Middle Eastern men at a stadium. She knew her premonition would take 21 days to show effect, and on the 6th of October, President Anwar Sadat was murdered at a mass commemoration. There is a theory that mortally important events can trigger mass premonitions where many people in the affected community foresee an impending tragedy or disaster. One of the most striking incident happened at the Marfa colliery in Port Talbot, Wales. One day in 1890 over half of the miner’s in the town failed to turn up for work because of a general disquiet and feeling of foreboding. Some people even reported the ‘smell of death’ drifting up from the mine. In total, 87 miners went down to work that day, but a massive accident in the heart of the colliery happened, none survived.

Amanda, a young mother living in Washington State, awoke one night at 2:30 A.M. from a nightmare. She dreamed that a large chandelier that hung above their baby’s bed in the next room fell into the crib and crushed the infant. In the dream, as she and her husband stood amid the wreckage, she saw that a clock on the baby’s dresser read 4:35 A.M. The weather in the dream was violent; rain hammered the window and the wind was blowing a gale. The dream was so terrifying she roused her husband and told him about it. He laughed, told her the dream was silly, and urged her to go back to sleep, which he promptly did. But the dream was so frightening that Amanda went to the baby’s room and brought the child back to bed with her. She noted that the weather was calm, not stormy as in the dream. Amanda felt foolish — until around two hours later, when she and her husband were awakened by a loud crash. They dashed into the nursery and found the crib demolished by the chandelier, which had fallen directly into it. Amanda noted that the clock on the dresser read 4:35 A.M. and that the weather had changed. Now there was howling wind and rain. This time, her husband was not laughing. Amanda’s dream was a snapshot of the future — down to the specific event, the precise time it would happen, and a change in the weather.

A similar phenomenon was said to have been experienced by many passengers shortly before boarding the Titanic. Without doubt, the largest modern source of premonition stories has been the World Trade Center attack on 11th September 2001.

Indeed, this event alone has initiated a massive resurgence in the belief of psychic forewarnings. There have been remarkable stories of artists and creative people including the disaster in works composed before the fateful day. Charles Burwell III, a painter and self-confessed non-psychic, composed an unusual image between spring and September 2000. The picture showed a calamity in a city of large pillars, but it caused Burwell so much distress that he did not finish it. In a similar case, intelligence agents investigated an Egyptian calendar printed in May 2001. On the page for September, the decorative picture seemed to depict a passenger plane crashing into tall buildings with Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty in the distance behind. If, as it seems, some of the hijackers were not aware of what was to unfold, it seems highly unlikely that the information was passed on to the calendar manufacturers.

But proof speaks for itself but believing that proof depends on how a person’s thinking and belief is. I itself had gone through these premonitions before my accident in May 2005. I kept having dreams that I am falling from a certain height but I couldn’t figure it out at that time and I also thought them as nightmares. Previous night before the accident the premonition was so strong that I woke up suddenly as I have fallen actually and was sweating badly. The next day it happened and I fell from the sixth floor and landed up in the basement.

Based on the Premonition theories and concepts many movies also have been made and are plotted almost around this theme. The famous ones are Final destination-Part 1,2,3,4 and now 5 and also Premonition-The Movie which is based on a true story and the actual concept.

  2. No. The fact is not that premonitions are real. There is no factual evidence to support it. Only coincidental experienced perceived to be true to a person ONLY when applied in context. When opened up to all possibilities it sounds absolutely foolish to think this could be real. Everyone always lists the times the coincidence benefits them. No one ever lists the 10,000 failed attempts at being correct before they finally got one right. It’s like playing the lottery, nothing special, no supernatural, no psychological powers, nothing.
