What’s the fucking point?

So how is everyone doing today?

Today, this one is yet another ‘I’ rather than being a ‘we’ as it most of the times is out here on Observer’s Paradise.

I am not sure what this is going to be about, interesting/boring/racist or anything else and frankly, I don’t care. It’s time to not give a fuck and ask the question what’s the point? No, in fact, what’s the fucking point?

‘Fuck’ a strange enough word isn’t it? It fits pretty much aptly irrespective of where it’s used. But what’s the point? At the end of the day, what matters is doing good things through the day and going off to sleep with not a thing to worry about. Even though some of you are nodding your heads in agreement and several others using the word that aptly fits everywhere, of course, along with an ‘off’ to go with it (just to make things grammatically correct.) And yet all I have to say is ‘what’s the point?’

What’s the point of being born and leading a life that you never really wanted to have?

We are born into an unfathomable existence, on a tiny patch of space called earth that is itself a speck of dust in the galaxy that is a speck of dust in the infinite universe, and not only that, but during your entire life span, you will die on an even smaller patch of space on THAT Earth. I cannot define life itself, I do not believe anyone can, but our lives on this planet can be defined. Our lives are collections of experiences, choices, and actions. That’s it. Choices and actions are obvious. Experiences include things like emotions, love, thoughts, sensory input, etc. Can you think of anything in our lives that is not an experience, choice, or action? I can’t.

What is the point of defining life in such simple and general terms? It shows that the only things we can gain from this life are the memories of our experiences and possibly spiritual salvation or other spiritual benefits if you are religious. Given that our choices and actions and the choices and actions of the people around us shape our experiences, we must consider our choices well; they define our lives.

What’s the point of being successful and having plenty to live on if one has nothing to live for? So, pick a cause. It is belief in something greater than you and enthusiasm in pursuing it that makes life worth living. Others complain that life isn’t fair, but that hardly is the case. After all, rich or poor, male or female, young or old, we all receive the same allotment of 86,400 seconds a day. That’s fair isn’t it? If some choose to use that time wisely and others choose to squander it, that’s not the fault of life, is it? Also, what can be fairer than reaping what we sow?

What’s the point of going to school, learning to behave, and the thing that people call etiquettes, studying subjects that you wouldn’t really use in your life? Sure you might implement a few of these things but all you do is forget them when it matters the most. Besides, as Lewis L Dunnington explains, “What life means to us is determined, not so much by what life brings to us as by the attitude we bring to life; not so much by what happens to us as by our reaction to what happens.” Thomas L. Holdcroft shares an equally valid view, “Life is a grindstone. Whether it grinds us down or polishes us up depends on us.”

Some believe in life after death, but what about life after birth? What’s the point of life if you’re not really living it? You probably agree with Philip Larkin who wrote, “Life has a practice of living you, if you don’t live it.” So, get involved with life by doing and experiencing as much as possible. After all, not to engage with life is not to live at all. Isn’t it better to die alive than to live dead?

So ultimately what’s the point, no, again, what’s the fucking point? If you are living a life of a living dead, without a cause, without an aim, running the daily cycle like a fucking machine, nothing to enjoy, nothing to look forward to, no one to talk to and no one to care for, no one to love, no one to hate for that matter. What’s the point of running a race in which you most probably are running to win even though you don’t realize that you are running a lonely race all alone.

So put your thinking cap on, start thinking before you act. Start loving before hating, start sharing before loneliness strikes. In short, start living a life that is worth calling a life than running a life more like a fucking robot than an amazing human being.

And, finally here I am asking you, what’s the fucking point of this fucking post that most of you wouldn’t fucking understand!
